YOUR UPPER MAIN STREET ALLIANCE WORKING FOR YOU!

Annual Meeting
As advertised, the Upper Main Alliance conducted its Annual Meeting on Tuesday, January 25, 2011. At our meeting, we introduced our board members and reinstated three board members whose terms expired. The new board then voted to elect its Executive Board for another year. Elected were Jerome J. Lombardo, Chairman; Ed Decker, Vice Chairman; Bryan Hekemian, Secretary and Steve Mandaro, Treasurer. We also introduced our budget and are pleased to report that we were able to keep our requested assessment amount at current levels. We remain committed to serving the business district and doing all that we can to ensure Main Street’s continued revitalization.

Snow Removal
We are grateful to the City of Hackensack for removing tons of snow from the business district, providing ample parking spaces for visitors and customers. The Alliance’s Clean and Green crews are also clearing sidewalks at intersections to allow for pedestrian access. We ask property and business owners to do their part by ensuring that sidewalks and walkways are free of snow and ice. Thank you for your cooperation.

New Banner Design
The Upper Main Alliance and The Hackensack Regional Chamber of Commerce joined forces to re-design our decorative banners. The new banners are currently in production and will be hung shortly. If you are interested in sponsoring the program by having your company name appear on the Chamber banner, please contact Darlene at the Chamber of Commerce. A limited number are available. We plan on hosting our next “Meet and Greet” this spring and will provide details shortly.

Parking Program (Spaces still available)
The Upper Main Alliance is leasing 5 parking spaces in our lot at Berry & State Streets. If you are interested in leasing one or more of these spots, please email us at hackensackmsba@verizon.net. The prices are discounted below what you would pay the City of Hackensack for similar spots.

“The Main Idea”; and Downtown Redevelopment
The Upper Main Alliance continues to work with the City of Hackensack and its consultants to develop a workable plan for downtown redevelopment. We will keep you apprised of significant developments as we move forward.
